This is just such a great old school video with a heap of top level drivers doing what they do best at Mobara. For me I really rate Taniguchi, I think hes one of the top 3 drifters in the world, some of the best S15 driving i have ever seen.

    Although I agree with you on Taniguchi driving I think theres more impressive drifters in Japan by their style.
    Taniguchi’s driving is flawless and consistent and this is what makes him one of the bests, but this doesnt make his driving awesome like some Naoki Nakamura crazy entries or any other less known drifters.
    Still he rocks.

    I agree some drivers do bigger entries and what not but look at NOB, like you said hes flawless and consistent I think after drifting and grip racing as long as NOB has thats the way hes been trained. You gotta be consistent to get over the finish line at every event with grip racing aswell as drifting. Not many drivers can make a car move around the track as fast as he can while making it look so effortless. Im sure if NOB wanted to do backwards entries or be famous for street drifting he could mix it with the best, but hes a business name aswell as a drifter he has to look more professional.

    But everyone prefers different drivers, I just think NOB has always been good since the early days and hes good on every level not just one.

    I agree about Nobuteru. To me his S15 is the most iconic drift car ever made, not because how it looked, but how it was driven.

    I remember him pulling 3 wheels dori on Nikko. I’ve always regreted when he dropped the S15 for the Altezza.
    I agree so much with you James, coz everytime I see a red S15 I can’t do anything but think of his red S15 (before it was all flaming when D1 started to get bigger).

    i remember watching the same vid of Taniguchi awhile ago. in about 5 mins after i watched it, i threw my s15 into a corner for the very first time haha
