What a crazy weekend, 3 bits of glass were pulled out from my arms and legs, near death on more then one occasion over the 2 days at Ebisu Drift Matsuri, the things I do for video footage.

This is just such a great old school video with a heap of top level drivers doing what they do best at Mobara. For me I really rate Taniguchi, I think hes one of the top 3 drifters in the world, some of the best S15 driving i have ever seen.

Driving to a Subaru company class I spotted this 180sx rolling on XR4’s, so I quickly jumped out and got a couple snaps. Now it may not be sitting on its rails or shakotan (really low ride height in Japanese) but it has all the ingrediants to be a good looking car, nice front fenders, old school offset, cool twin pipes, but it just needs to dropped 3-4 inches all round.

Its the start of an insane weekend and to kick it off is the heart stopping breeze that brushes across you skin instantly waking you up from your slumber. Its a weekend like no other, its Ebisu Drift Matsuri! Three events a year held at the world famous Ebisu circuit over the course of 2 days, ohhh did I forget to mention 2 days 32 hours non stop drifting from sunrise to sunset. Ebisu is scattered with more tracks in one location then you could ever dream of and filled with hundreds of people all with the same passion for drifting.

There is no event on this earth that can compare to the pure insanity that happens at a Drift Matsuri, the countless crashes and cars rolling around on their roofs, the people you meet and friends you make all come together to make one event you will never forget.

Say Japan and the next word you think of is Touge and we have plenty of it around Gunma. Gunma was made famous by the well known manga series Initial D and its easy to see why this manga series was based around Gunma due to the large amount of bordering mountains and the touge it contains.

D1 Grand Prix the worlds biggest drift competition, where people are made and people are broken, where you get to mix with the worlds best in a sport that demands everything from you as lay rubber across the tarmac at over 180kph only inches from your rival. This world is often seen as the highlight of drifting what real drifting is about, where people who have spent years and countless hard earned dollars to travel around Japan fighting their way through the ranks to finally be given an official D1GP license. Now its time for all those years of dedication and practice to shine through as you face up against some of the biggest names in drifting, you lay everything down for the chance to make a name for yourself and one day be lucky enough to win the D1 Grand Prix.
