This is why I love Japan, pure madness. These guys beat up police, beat up each other, respect no one or anything but one thing they all have in common is there love for synchronized dancing. Your not ment to understand Japan so dont try.
Personally I think its just plain cool. Japan : dress in the lastest clothes have the latest phone conform and if your not like everyone else whos wearing the lastest fashion then your simply not cool. Its like these guys are saying no stuff that I am going to jump back 60 years do whatever the hell i want, F*ck everyone. In a weird way you have to respect that, even just being a Japanese person and getting a tattoo makes you can outcast.
I suppose if your in Japan right now its almost mandatory to post a picture of some sort to do to with Sakura (cherry blossom). It really is a beautiful time in Japan but I just prefer the colder months of the year. These were just some quick phone snaps, went to a nice park last night with the misses and took some proper photos so I will post them up later in Part II.
So what do we do when we arn’t driving our life size cars? We drift RC cars. We use to have quite a few big RC nights where all the team / friends would get together and battle it out all night. We dont do it as much now days but every now and then we will pull them out for a quick spin around Hoshino’s track at his workshop.
My personal car, I’m not huge on looks but its got a tuned ECU, aftermarket engine, locked front and rear diffs, plastic / rubber mix tires for higher speed drifting and bad ass scando flicks, something you can’t do running normal hard plastic tires.
Here’s a few snap shots from a small video I’m putting together.
The video along with a little write up and a few photos will be live on my blog this week. Those of you who have already subscribed will be the first to see the action.
D1 Grand Prix the worlds biggest drift competition, where people are made and people are broken, where you get to mix with the worlds best in a sport that demands everything from you as lay rubber across the tarmac at over 180kph only inches from your rival. This world is often seen as the highlight of drifting what real drifting is about, where people who have spent years and countless hard earned dollars to travel around Japan fighting their way through the ranks to finally be given an official D1GP license. Now its time for all those years of dedication and practice to shine through as you face up against some of the biggest names in drifting, you lay everything down for the chance to make a name for yourself and one day be lucky enough to win the D1 Grand Prix.
Finally we got the stickers the other day they will be starting to get shipped out early next week! http://fb.me/vSFdcSap http://twitter.com/wearedrift2010/03/25
